Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced IT Architect to join our defence-focused ICT design team in the UK. You will bridge business needs and technical solutions, shaping IT architecture blueprints and aligning them with client objectives across critical infrastructure projects.

We value proactive, collaborative professionals with strong analytical skills, experience in TOGAF/UAF, UML/SysML, Sparx EA, and delivering secure, scalable systems in high-assurance environments.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years designing and delivering complex IT systems, ideally within Defence or high‑assurance environments.
• Proven experience owning solution architecture and delivering outcomes across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
• Experience working with UK MOD customers (e.g., DE&S, Defence Digital) or similar organisations.

Responsibilities

• Defining IT architecture: Analyse business requirements, identify technical solutions, and create comprehensive IT architecture blueprints.
• Designing and developing IT systems: Translate IT architecture blueprints into tangible IT systems, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
• Overseeing system performance: Monitor performance and implement corrective measures to ensure scalability and stability.
• Enhancing security and compliance: Implement security protocols, data encryption, and access controls to protect information.
