Job summary

Leonardo UK is hiring a Test Equipment Design Authority to assure and certify test systems for fast-jet radar diagnostics and return-to-service timelines. You will work with IPTs to ensure safety, security and legal compliance, and align configurations and certifications across life cycles.

This role suits a tester/engineer with complex electronic test solution experience (optical, RF, digital, analogue) and hands-on design across full life cycles.

Qualifications

• Familiarisation with defence-related tech solutions.
• Experience/knowledge of airborne radar is desirable.
• Define requirements and manage their route to compliance.
• Experience in full lifecycle management of test solutions.
• Participation in design reviews and system implementation.
• Knowledge of legislation/standards (EMC, safety).
• Awareness of product security and international delivery needs.
• Experience interfacing with sub-contractors and export controls.

Responsibilities

• Support verification activities, design changes and obsolescence cycles.
• Understand technical elements of test equipment across an international multi-partner team.
• Communicate effectively, negotiate and influence to keep focus on the big picture.
• Fully document work products and manage under configuration control.
• Work within a multi-disciplined team to resolve technical issues.
• Attend project update meetings with IPTs and exhibit strong interpersonal skills.
• Produce reports and align with Leonardo test and design policies.
