Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to contribute to high-performance radar systems. You will own the hardware lifecycle from requirements through to production transfer, designing PCB level electronics and working with the project team to support integration and qualification.

The role requires hands-on circuit design, mixed-signal expertise, and the ability to ruggedize designs for reliability and testability. Hybrid working is available in the Edinburgh area.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM field or equivalent as recognised by accreditation bodies.
• Experience in circuit design, layout and simulation.
• Mixed-signal design for high performance signal processing and control.
• Integrating in-house designs with COTS modules and power supplies.
• Knowledge of high-speed serial links and related protocols.
• Hands-on hardware, firmware & software integrationmanship.
• Ability to liaison with component suppliers and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Design product hardware within Electronics Hardware discipline for delivery to production.
• Follow company engineering lifecycle processes and best practices.
• Design engineering solutions considering quality, safety, reliability and testability.
• Create work package plans and report on team progress and risks.
• Resolve routine and complex technical issues within engineering assignments.
• Communicate non-routine issues to management with proposals.
