Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Test Equipment Design Authority to assure and certify test systems for fast-jet radar diagnostics and repair. You will work with IPTs across international partners to ensure safety, legality, and configuration control of complex test solutions.

The role combines hands-on design with full lifecycle management, documentation discipline, and cross-team collaboration. It features hybrid working from Edinburgh and Newcastle with a supportive benefits package and security

Responsibilities

• Support Verification activities, Design Changes and Obsolescence cycles
• Understand the technical elements of the Test Equipment implementation across an international multi-partner team
• Strong communication and stakeholder influence
• Document and record work products under configuration management
• Collaborate in a multi-disciplined engineering team to resolve issues
• Support IPTs and attend project update meetings
• Produce reports and contribute to policies and procedures
• Understand through life product life cycle management
• Identify user requirements and map to compliance
• Test and integration knowledge across electronic products
• Support Leonardo sectors to identify/mitigate issues
• Regular reviews of test equipment for compliance
• Identify opportunities for value-adding investment
• Familiarity with defence tech
• Airborne radar knowledge
• Requirements management; DOORS experience beneficial
• Lifecycle management in test solutions
• Experience in design reviews
• System design and implementation
• Requirement verification and compliance
• Safety legislation and EMC knowledge
• Product security and risk mitigation
• Sub-contractor interfacing
