Job summary

NG Bailey Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Engineering division on a major MOD project, with a base in Bristol or Cardiff. You will lead commercial delivery, manage project costs, subcontractor relationships, and commercial risks to ensure successful delivery.

The role requires experience in the M&E sector, NEC3/NEC4/JCT familiarity, and a degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying. Defence project experience is beneficial, with security clearance ability preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in the M&E sector and large-scale projects.
• Strong ability to manage subcontractors and commercial reporting.
• Familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 or JCT contracts advantageous.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Security clearance requirements for MOD projects desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety-first culture on all project activities.
• Manage risks and opportunities and ensure contractual compliance.
• Identify, negotiate variations and compensation events.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and entitlements.
• Work with operations to monitor performance, costs and progress.
• Prepare payment applications and ensure timely recovery.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts.
• Produce commercial reports and forecasts.
• Support settlement of final accounts with clients.
