Job summary

Kainos in the United Kingdom is seeking a Product Consultant to own the team's backlog from inception to delivery, drive MVP thinking, and communicate value across the project and stakeholders. You will lead agile ceremonies, plan workshops, and mentor a small team.

You will work with client teams in a consultancy setting, translate requirements into user stories, and help shape product capability while delivering outcomes within commercial constraints.

Qualifications

• Experience in bespoke software delivery as part of an agile team
• Defence sector experience is highly desirable
• Active DV clearance
• Experience in creating and splitting user stories from requirements
• Excellent facilitation and workshop leadership skills
• Strong ability to model As-is and To-be processes and gains buy‑in from stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Own the team's backlog from inception through delivery and ensure MVPs are well defined
• Lead agile ceremonies, workshops and stakeholder discussions to drive consensus
• Coach and develop junior members of the team and nurture a high-performing unit
• Manage stakeholder relationships and align delivery with business goals
• Translate functional and non-functional requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
• Contribute to sales activities and bids where required
