Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate or Senior Project Manager to lead defence and industrial projects from development through handover. You will be based within commuting distance of Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds, with initial significant onsite attendance in Bolton, delivering complex schemes for UK Defence.

You will take ownership of projects, manage contracts, costs and risks, and act as primary client contact.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering infrastructure or industrial projects, ideally within MOD, DIO, or similarly regulated environments related to the defence sector.
• Strong working knowledge of JCT Design and Build contracts
• Prior and proven experience working as an Employers Agent
• Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams across design and construction
• Ability to manage stakeholders across client, contractor, and end-user groups
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC or higher)

Responsibilities

• Lead major projects (£100m+) in the Industrial and/ or Defence sector.
• Act as Project Manager and Employers Agent, managing contractual processes and commercial positions
• Key day to day point of contact for the client, you will be leading a commission for Project Management, incorporating site supervision and drawing on wider disciplines where necessary.
• Work as the Employers Agent to represent and administer JCT Design and Build contracts.
• Manage programme, cost, and risk, ensuring robust project controls are maintained
• Build and maintain strong client relationships across multiple stakeholders
• Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to team capability and growth
• Ensure compliance with governance, approvals processes, and security requirements
