Job summary

Kainos is seeking a Product Consultant in Wakefield to lead backlog maturity, drive MVP thinking, and coordinate with stakeholders across projects. You will facilitate workshops, mentor team members, and ensure delivery aligns with client needs and strategic goals.

The role emphasizes agile leadership, client engagement, and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable user stories while supporting sales and project initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering bespoke software within an agile, client-facing consulting environment.
• Defence sector exposure and active DV clearance are advantageous.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle from analysis to live operations.
• Excellent workshop facilitation and ability to align stakeholders.
• Strong skills in modelling As-is / To-be processes and user stories.
• Proven ability to manage scope, backlog and MVP delivery under constraints.

Responsibilities

• Own the team backlog maturity and drive features from inception to delivery.
• Lead agile ceremonies, run workshops and facilitate consensus among stakeholders.
• Coach and develop junior staff and maintain performance standards.
• Collaborate with sales, bids and project teams to maximise value.
