Job summary

Systems Engineering & Assessment Ltd is seeking a Commercial Manager for a defence-focused role, based at our Bristol site with flexible working. The salary is up to £70k, depending on experience, and you will negotiate customer contracts, manage key commercial relationships and oversee sub-contracts and procurement agreements.

You will collaborate with project management, technical teams and wider stakeholders to deliver compliant bids.

Qualifications

• Experience managing defence-related contracts within engineering, manufacturing or naval environments.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Management experience with the ability to work in teams.
• Experience in Government procurement.
• Experience working within the MOD, Defence or Aerospace industry.
• Qualifications in contract law or a general law degree would be desirable.
• Expertise within methods of contracting and T&Cs.
• Knowledge of Customer through life support.
• Knowledge of pricing, terms and conditions and other contractual documentation.
• Experience in delivering commercial sales transactions, negotiation, bid preparation.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and agree Customer Contracts and other relevant commercial documents; draft, negotiate and agree sub-contracts and major or complex procurement agreements.
• Manage customers and be a key customer commercial contact; undertake commercial management of sub-contractors and Coordinate Contract Reviews for new projects.
