Job summary

RINA ASD UK is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join the ASD BD Team. You will target and win growth opportunities with UK Defence clients, leveraging a portfolio of consultancy services including Safety Engineering, Integrated Logistics Support, and Project Management.

A hybrid working pattern is offered with some travel. The role requires a proactive, outcomes-driven salesperson with a strong network in Defence and a proven ability to produce persuasive tender responses.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ BD and sales experience in consulting or engineering professional services.
• Strong Defence domain knowledge across air, land, sea and/or cyber.
• Understanding of UK Defence procurement processes and frameworks.
• Proven ability to write compelling tender and proposal responses (RFPs/RFIs).
• Existing personal network within Defence and Security sector preferred.
• SC security clearance at employment or eligibility to obtain it (British citizen).

Responsibilities

• Create and manage a pipeline of profitable new and repeat business with MOD and prime contractors.
• Plan BD campaigns aligned to wider business strategy.
• Act as Key Account Manager for nominated clients and prospects.
• Contribute to tender/proposal responses and act as capture manager when required.
• Support customer satisfaction, repeat business, and expansion into new markets.
• Help convert prospects to contracts and assist during mobilisation.
• Identify strategic alliances to enhance client value propositions.
• Collaborate with other RINA groups to drive cross-selling.
• Monitor competitor activity and provide intelligence updates.
• Plan and attend events, expos and conferences with Marketing.
