Job summary

RINA ASD UK is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Defence consultancy portfolio across the UK. You will work with the ASD BD Team to identify and win new and repeat business, targeting MOD, primes and frameworks, while collaborating with marketing on events and campaigns.

You will lead campaigns, manage key accounts, and contribute to proposals and capture activities. A strong defence network and SC clearance or UK citizenship are preferable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ BD/sales experience in a consulting or engineering professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of Defence across air, land, sea, and/or cyber.
• Familiarity with UK Defence procurement processes and frameworks.
• Experience in roles like CRM, Account Exec, Sales Exec or Capture Manager.
• Existing personal network in Defence/Security is advantageous.
• Proven ability to craft persuasive business-winning tender responses.
• Security clearance requirements: SC cleared or British citizen willing to be vetted.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage a pipeline of profitable new and repeat business with MOD, primes and frameworks.
• Plan BD campaigns aligned to wider business strategy.
• Act as Key Account Manager for nominated clients and prospects.
• Contribute to tender/proposal responses; act as Capture Manager when required.
• Support customer satisfaction, repeat business and expansion into new markets.
• Convert prospects to contracts and assist Operations during mobilisation.
• Identify opportunities for strategic alliances to enhance client value.
• Collaborate across RINA Group for cross-selling and collaboration.
• Track competitors and report intelligence to the team.
• Plan and attend events, expos and conferences with Marketing.
