Job summary

PiLON is seeking experienced decorators to join a team delivering kitchen and bathroom refurbishments within social housing in Nottingham and surrounding areas. This is aimed at self-employed tradespeople seeking long‑term, steady work on occupied properties, with a strong emphasis on reliability, quality and professionalism.

You’ll be part of a well-organised programme, maintaining high standards while ensuring safety and site rules are followed.

Qualifications

• CSCS card is required.
• Basic H&S certifications, especially asbestos awareness.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Own tools (110V or battery-operated).
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (van preferred).
• Good conversational English.
• Reliable, organised and able to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Carry out painting and decorating works in kitchen and bathroom refurbishments.
• Complete retouches and fillings after plastering works.
• Apply first and second coats to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Paint ceilings, walls and boxing to cover pipes and wiring.
• Protect furniture and surroundings in occupied properties.
• Work efficiently to complete at least one kitchen and one bathroom per day.
• Carry out work safely and in line with site rules (fan heaters up to 240V not permitted).
• Maintain a clean and tidy working environment in occupied properties.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out painting and decorating works within kitchen and bathroom refurbishments
• Completing retouches and fillings following plastering works
• Applying first and second coats to achieve a high‑quality finish
• Painting ceilings, walls, and wooden boxing covering pipes and wiring
• Protecting furniture and surrounding areas at all times, as properties are fully furnished
• Working efficiently to complete at least one kitchen and one bathroom per day
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site rules (fan heaters up to 240V are not permitted)
• Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment in occupied properties
