Job summary

Concept Resources in Huntingdon is supporting a well-established Garden Centre Café to recruit a hands-on Kitchen Manager. This daytime-only role leads a small kitchen team, oversees service, maintains standards, and ensures smooth operations from 8:00 to 16:30.

You’ll mentor and train team members, recruit staff when needed, manage stock and food costs, and drive continual improvements. We’re seeking an experienced leader with strong communication and a proactive, can-do approach.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor with leadership skills.
• Strong leadership, organisational and kitchen management skills.
• Experience leading a team through busy services.
• Excellent communication and ability to set clear expectations.
• Mentoring approach with ability to train and develop staff.
• Experience recruiting and onboarding new kitchen staff.
• Knowledge of ordering, stock control, food safety and food cost management.
• Understanding of wastage, prep planning and portion control.
• Proactive in solving challenges and improving kitchen performance.
• Positive, team-focused attitude and passion for quality food.
• Confidence to implement changes when required.
