Job summary

Evri in Dundee is seeking an experienced Day Shift Manager to lead a busy depot operation, ensuring parcels are processed efficiently and ready for delivery.

You will manage shift performance, coach Supervisors and operatives, monitor KPIs, budgets and safety, and drive improvements in service, productivity and cost.

This hands-on leadership role requires quick thinking, decisive leadership and clear communication across teams in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience leading operational teams.
• Experience in fast-paced logistics, distribution or warehouse settings.
• Solid understanding of transport operations and regulations.
• Strong organisational and decision-making abilities under pressure.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach to continuous improvement.
• Confident communication with colleagues at all levels.
• MS Office skills and familiarity with logistics software.

We're looking for an experienced and driven Day Shift Manager to join our Dundee Depot, someone who shares our passion for delivering great service and knows how to get the best out of their team.

As our Day Shift Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping our depot running smoothly, leading a busy operation and ensuring parcels are processed efficiently and ready for delivery to our customers.

You'll take full ownership of shift performance, leading teams of Supervisors, Warehouse Operatives and Drivers while driving improvements in service, productivity, cost and operational efficiency.

This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same. You'll need to think on your feet, make decisions and keep your team motivated in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and manage the day shift operation, ensuring everything runs safely, efficiently and on time.

• Drive depot performance against key KPIs, including sortation compliance, vehicle departure times and service delivery.

• Manage shift budgets, productivity, labour costs, overtime and agency usage.

• Lead, coach and develop Supervisors and operational teams to achieve their full potential.

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs and increase operational efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, transport regulations and Operator Licence requirements.

• Work closely with other departments and management teams to maintain a smooth and effective operation.

What We're Looking For

• Proven management experience, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop operational teams.

• Experience working within a fast-paced logistics, distribution or warehouse environment.

• Good understanding of transport operations and relevant regulations.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a passion for continuous improvement.

• Confident communication skills, with the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels.

• Good IT skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
