Job summary

Hunter Selection have a Maintenance Engineer opportunity in Newquay, Cornwall. The role involves planned maintenance inspections, safety checks, and supporting production with continuous improvement. Salary £38,000–£40,000, Monday–Friday days, on-site parking, and a contributory pension.

You'll work with valves and pumps, generate SOPs, and ensure compliance. Suitable candidates will have a formal engineering qualification (C&G/NVQ), and experience in food, packaging or manufacturing

Qualifications

• Formal engineering qualification (C&G Level 3/NVQ Level 3 or apprenticeship completed).
• Experience in continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards.
• Experience in food, packaging, drink, manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Planned maintenance inspections and review parts used.
• Suggest improvements aligned with projects and maintenance schedules; perform safety checks on equipment.
• Monitor plant conditions, report defects and repair machinery.
• Generate and maintain SOPs and risk assessments.
• Report on plant performance and ensure action on non-conformances.
• Work on valves and pumps; support production and CI projects.

Our client is a leading manufacturer that is dedicated to producing products that's quality is recognised as second to none. With a strong order book & growth into various export markets they are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities

• Planned Maintenance inspections, review parts used
• Recommend improvements in line with projects and maintenance schedules, carry out safety checks on range of equipment
• Monitor plant conditions, report defects, repair of machinery
• Generate and maintain compliance to SOP's, risk assessments
• Report on plant performance using systems, ensure action on non-conformance issues
• Working on a range of valves & Pumps
• Supporting production & continuous improvement projects

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Formal Engineering Qualification - C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship trained
• Continuous improvement knowledge
• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards
• Experience in food, packaging, drink, manufacturing environments
