Hunter Selection Ltd in Chard, Somerset, is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team. The role focuses on minimising downtime through rapid response to breakdowns, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will work in a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on reliability and ongoing improvements, contributing to safety and efficiency while leveraging a well-supported benefits package.

Qualifications

• Formal engineering qualification (C&G Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship completed).
• Continuous improvement knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards.
• Experience in engineering/manufacturing or production environments.

Responsibilities

• Respond to machine breakdowns to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
• Execute the maintenance plan and perform preventive maintenance.
• Use root cause analysis tools and 5S.
• Support a culture of Continuous Improvement to resolve persistent issues.
• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance.
• Accurately record all maintenance tasks on an electronic reporting system.

Our client is a leading manufacturer that is dedicated to producing products that is quality is recognised as second to none. With a strong order book and due to growth into various export markets they are looking for aMaintenance Engineerto join their Engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Respond to machine breakdowns with a view to minimising downtime and improving long term machine reliability
• Execution of the Lead/Senior Maintenance Engineer’s plan to work preventatively in addition to reactively
• Use of appropriate root cause analysis tools & 5S
• Actively support a culture of Continuous Improvement, looking at ways to engineer out persistent problems
• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance
• Accurately record all maintenance tasks performed on an electronic reporting system

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Formal Engineering Qualification - C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship trained
