Job summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a Scrub Practitioner to join the Day Surgery Unit in Llanelli on a fixed-term/secondment until 31 October 2027. The post is part-time (14 hours per week) and band 5.

You will provide skilled scrub assistance across specialties in a fast-paced perioperative setting, ensuring aseptic technique, patient safety, and contributing to audit activities. Welsh language ability is desirable.

Qualifications

• Registered Practitioner (NMC/HCPC) with theatre/perioperative experience.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Knowledge of surgical specialities within the operating department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating theatres and surgical equipment for planned procedures.
• Act as a skilled scrub practitioner, maintaining aseptic technique.
