Job summary

Northern Trains Limited is seeking a Day Shift Train Cleaner at Leeds Station to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming trains during daytime service. You will operate as part of a supportive team, performing quick turnarounds and onboard cleaning to high hygiene standards while following safety protocols.

You will be practical, detail-oriented, and capable of working outdoors in varying weather. Training will cover equipment use and safety, with opportunities for progression and a strong emphasis

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience in commercial, industrial, or domestic settings.
• Excellent eye for detail with a pride in high hygiene standards.
• Strong team player with reliability and positive energy.
• Able to work outdoors and on trains in all weather.
• Comfortable using digital schedules and recording tasks in MPRO5.

Responsibilities

• Clean train interiors including tables, windows, seats, touch-points, and floors to high hygiene standards.
• Manage quick-turnaround cleans during service to keep trains on time.
• Remove litter, empty bins and restock onboard facilities during shifts.
• Handle spillages safely, including biological spills, following safety procedures.
• Coordinate with depot and operations colleagues to ensure rapid yet quality turnarounds.
