Job summary

PX Group in Middlesbrough is seeking a Days Instrument Technician on a 12-month fixed-term contract to maintain control and instrumentation systems at TeesREP power plant. The role covers installation, calibration, testing and fault diagnosis of C&I equipment, with oversight of contractor activities and strict adherence to health, safety and environmental procedures.

You will be required to read P&IDs, manage calibrations with field instruments and operate CMMS for maintenance records.

Qualifications

Experience with DCS/PLC/SCADA systems and version control.
Ability to read P&IDs and loop diagrams.
Knowledge of Safe System of Work and permit to work.
Experience in maintenance and testing of C&I equipment.
Familiarity with repair, calibration and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

Install, calibrate, adjust, troubleshoot and repair C&I equipment and DCS/PLC control systems.
Supervise contractors on site.
Use test equipment to calibrate Controllers.
Ensure controls are calibrated per specs and documented.
Perform preventive maintenance and record in CMMS.
Maintain reliability/availability of C&I equipment per P&ID and specs.
Respond to emergency fault conditions.
Diagnose complex faults and locate causes.
Test circuits for safety and compatibility.
