Job summary

Scantec Recruitment is recruiting an Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer for a well-established European manufacturer in Selby. The role covers operation and maintenance of CHP, boilers and water treatment systems in a fast-paced process environment.

You will fault-find, calibrate and commission instrumentation, while supporting safe HV operations and plant improvements. Training is provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Time-served electrical apprenticeship in a process or heavy industry environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Good understanding of electrical schematics and installations.
• Experience with CHP, boilers or utilities (or willingness to learn).
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boilers, CHP (gas turbines) and water treatment systems.
• Adjust plant settings to production demands and process conditions.
• Liaise with production teams to manage steam and power requirements.
• Carry out planned, reactive and predictive electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
• Fault find, test, calibrate and commission instrumentation.
• Diagnose faults and implement repair solutions.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures.
• Carry out electrical isolations and support permit-to-work systems.
• Support HV operations (training provided if needed).
