Job summary

px Group is recruiting an Instrumentation Technician for its Wyke site in Bradford, a major COMAH facility. You will maintain and improve plant control and instrumentation systems, delivering safe, reliable production through planned, corrective and breakdown maintenance.

Reporting to the EC&I Supervisor, you will work at a leading crop protection manufacturing site, supported by on‑the‑job training, coaching and performance reviews to develop your skills and contributions within a high-hazard

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance of control & instrumentation systems.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., Oracle EAM) is beneficial.
• Knowledge of safety, risk assessments and permit-to-work processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all Control & Instrument maintenance activities (routine, corrective, shutdown and breakdown) are executed with Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and risk assessments under permit-to-work.
• Deliver maximum equipment availability through effective use of CMMS (Oracle EAM) for planned and reactive maintenance.
• Maintain and support DCS control systems, PLCs, Fire & Gas, ESD and related cause & effect logic.
• Ensure compliance with inspection regimes, flange management standards and maintenance strategies.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Projects and external providers for optimal maintenance outcomes.
• Support planning, campaigns and shutdowns with the Maintenance Planner and Scheduler.

The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for an Instrumentation Technician.
As a Control & Instrumentation Technician at our Wyke site, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective maintenance and reliability of plant control and instrumentation systems across our upper-tier COMAH facility.
Reporting to the EC&I Supervisor, you will support the safe and efficient operation of production assets by delivering high-quality planned, corrective and breakdown maintenance. Your expertise will directly influence plant availability, process safety, and overall operational performance.
You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all Control & Instrument maintenance activities (routine, corrective, shutdown and breakdown) are executed with appropriate Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), risk assessments and in line with permit-to-work systems.
• Deliver maximum availability of plant equipment through effective use of CMMS systems (Oracle EAM), covering planned and reactive maintenance.
• Maintain and support DCS control systems, PLC systems, Fire & Gas detection systems, ESD systems and associated cause & effect processes.
• Ensure compliance with inspection regimes, flange management standards and company-defined maintenance strategies.
• Interface effectively with Production, Engineering, Projects and external service providers to deliver optimal maintenance outcomes.
• Support maintenance planning, campaign maintenance and shutdown/turnaround activities in collaboration with the Maintenance Planner and Scheduler.
