Workchain is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for a temporary, day-shift role in Whetstone. You will support transport and operations, handling curtainsiders and ensuring safe, timely deliveries in a reliability-focused environment.

The role requires a valid HGV Class 1 licence, CPC qualification and tachograph card, with a professional, independent work style and strong communication. This is a transient position with day shifts in a local authority setting.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence.
• Current Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital tachograph card held and up to date.
• Experience driving curtainsider vehicles.
• Solid knowledge of load security and vehicle safety.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Operate curtainsider trailers and complete deliveries or collections as required.
• Carry out vehicle checks before and after each journey.
• Secure loads correctly and ensure all relevant documentation is completed.
• Follow planned routes, site procedures and road safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of working time, journeys and vehicle condition.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and site contacts.
• Report any defects, delays or issues promptly.
