Job summary

Workchain is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for daytime operations in Northampton on a temporary basis. You will deliver and collect goods, perform pre-journey checks, and ensure loads are secured while adhering to road safety rules and company procedures.

The role emphasizes punctual service, safe driving, and professional conduct to maintain high standards across every journey. Previous HGV Class 1 experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence held.
• Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
• Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• Knowledge of road safety and drivers’ hours regulations.
• Good time management and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled deliveries and collections safely and on time.
• Carry out vehicle checks before departure and report defects.
• Ensure loads are secured and handled responsibly.
• Follow transport legislation, site procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Complete delivery paperwork and use relevant systems.
• Maintain clear communication with customers, site teams and transport colleagues.
