HGV Class 1 Driver: Day/Night Shifts, Curtainside Trunking

Job summary

Apex Resources LTD is recruiting Class 1 Drivers to join a leading UK distribution group supporting General Haulage and trunking operations. Roles are full-time with shift patterns including early mornings and evenings, 5 days from 7, with optional weekend work.

You will drive Curtainside trailers to distribution centres and stores, perform store collections, and assist with general duties including occasional loading/unloading. CPC and tachograph compliance are required.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence is required.
• Minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (New Pass drivers considered).
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR convictions.
• Current CPC & Tachograph cards required.
• Understand and comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to perform vehicle checks and report defects.
• Adhere to on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers to Distribution Centres and Stores.
• Collections from Stores to load out to Distribution Centres.
• Support General work including occasional store deliveries and loading/unloading cages.
• Trunking opportunities available depending on availability.
• Complete all necessary vehicle checks and documentation.
• Maintain high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism.
• Work closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to Driver’s hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.
