Job summary

Hft is seeking a Deputy Day Opportunities Manager to lead and develop community-based day opportunities for learning disabled adults. You will mentor teams, ensure inclusive, person-centred activities, and collaborate with families and local partners to expand access to education, employment, volunteering and community involvement.

You’ll spend substantial time on shift, modelling best practices and supporting staff in delivering safe, empowering experiences across locations, with a focus on

Qualifications

• Experience leading outcome-focused day services.
• Frontline team leadership in day opportunities or regulated services.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and relevant legislation.
• Strong communication with families, carers and partners.
• Ability to manage budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and inspire the team to deliver engaging, community-based day opportunities.
• Coordinate delivery across multiple locations to enable learning disabled adults to connect and thrive.
• Spend ~60% of time on shift, role-modeling best practice and hands-on leadership.
• Work with families, carers, and the community to promote independence and life skills.
• Build partnerships with local authorities and organisations to expand opportunities.
• Ensure services are safe, inclusive, and continuously improving.
• Enable access to education, employment, volunteering and community activities.
• Promote a positive, open culture with safeguarding and service improvement input.
