Job summary

Astute People is seeking a Day Operations Team Leader for a brand-new Energy from Waste Power Station in Walsall. You will supervise a dedicated team, oversee weighbridge, tipping, ash handling and crane operations, and drive safe, compliant daily operations.

The role requires supervisory experience, knowledge of large mobile plant and a background in fuel/material handling, with a Monday–Friday pattern and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a leadership, management or a technical subject.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Day Operations Team and lead day-to-day activities safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate and operate weighbridge, tipping hall, ash hall and waste handling systems.
• Maintain logs, inspect equipment, and ensure compliance with H&S and site procedures.
• Support induction, training and development of staff and visiting drivers/contractors.
• Monitor safety performance and contribute to risk assessments and improvement initiatives.
