Wycombe Abbey is seeking a Day Matron to join the Boarding House team for girls aged 11–17. The role involves supporting the Housemistress and Senior Resident Matron, maintaining a warm, well-organised environment and ensuring high standards of appearance and hygiene.
You will manage the House Dispensary, record keeping and assist with day-to-day running and administrative tasks to support pupils and staff. This is a term-time only, permanent position with a probationary period.
We are looking to appoint a Day Matron to join the team to provide support to the boarding House team, working with girls aged 11-17. This is an important support role within our pastoral teams, working under the direction of the Housemistress, Deputy Housemistress, and Senior Resident Matron to create a welcoming, supportive, encouraging and cheerful environment for our girls.

Reports to: Housemistress (Airlie) and Senior Resident Matron.
Contract: Permanent, term-time only contract. The first three months will be a probationary period.
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Wednesday to Sunday, during Wycombe Abbey Term Time. Wycombe Abbey term time consists of 32 working weeks plus 5.6 weeks holiday and bank holiday pay per annum.
Salary: £14.37 per hour (FTE of £28,022).
As part of the House Team, you will help create a warm, homely, encouraging and welcoming atmosphere for girls aged 11-17. Responsibilities include ensuring House routines are followed, encouraging high standards of appearance and personal hygiene, running the House Dispensary and dispensing simple medication, maintaining careful medical records, overseeing the girls' clothes and laundry, helping maintain the tidiness of the House and providing pastoral support for pupils as required. You will also carry out administrative tasks requested by the Housemistress and support the smooth day-to-day running of the House.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and takes pride in creating a welcoming, supportive and organised boarding environment. The successful candidate will have positive interaction with and an understanding of the needs of young people, good IT skills and the ability to build effective and supportive relationships with colleagues and pupils.
The School benefits from easy access to London (24 minutes to Marylebone), the Chiltern Hills and attractive towns such as Marlow, Henley-on-Thames and Beaconsfield. Heathrow is also just 20 miles away plus good transport links to other London airports.
