Job summary

Alto is hiring a Data Science Lead to build and lead Alto’s data science capability from the ground up. You’ll work at the intersection of data, product, and commercial strategy, with direct access to executive leadership and a platform ready for exploitation.

You’ll define the data science roadmap, prioritise ROI‑driven use cases, and mentor analysts to grow the capability across the business. This is a hands‑on leadership role in a high‑growth SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Python and SQL with a strong grounding in statistics and causal inference.
• Track record of productionised data science models in SaaS or similar environments.
• Ability to translate data science outputs into measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

• Define and own Alto’s data science roadmap with ROI‑driven use cases.
• Build, deploy and maintain production‑grade models for churn, health, propensity and capacity forecasting.
• Design experiments to test pricing, product and operations changes with rigorous statistics.
• Collaborate with Platform and Data Engineering to productionise models on Mission Control.
• Develop segmentation and scoring frameworks for Customer Operations and Commercial teams.
• Identify automation opportunities with Head of AI Operations and surface insights for senior stakeholders.
• Mentor analysts and grow the data science team across the business.
