Job summary

Deel is seeking a Team Lead of Data Science to drive the data strategy and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists. You will lead data-driven projects, collaborate across engineering and product, and shape predictive models that influence key business decisions.

You will guide ML initiatives, ensure deployment into production, and communicate insights to leadership. The role requires strong technical and people leadership in a fast-paced, globally distributed company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data science experience with ML, statistics and data modeling.
• 2+ years leading or managing a data science team.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL.
• Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Experience with data manipulation/visualization tools (Pandas, Matplotlib, Tableau).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and distributed computing (Spark).
• Strong understanding of statistics and hypothesis testing methods.
• Strong communication skills with non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a data science team to deliver high-impact models, algorithms and insights.
• Develop and execute data science projects aligned with business objectives.
• Guide the team in applying ML techniques to solve complex problems and improve decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deploy models into production.

• Drive innovation by staying updated on industry trends and technologies.
• Ensure integrity, accuracy and scalability of data models and analyses.
• Communicate insights to leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
• Oversee continuous improvement of data processes, methodologies and tools.
