Job summary

Siemens Healthineers Magnet Technology in Oxfordshire invites applications for a 12-month Applied Data Science Intern. You will work with engineers to analyse manufacturing data, build dashboards, and contribute to digitalisation projects across our Bicester and Eynsham facilities.

You will study for a degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field, and gain hands-on experience in data analytics, AI exploration, and practical industry

Qualifications

• Currently studying towards a degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline.
• Completion of a 12-month industrial placement or sandwich year as part of your degree.
• Understanding of engineering, physical systems or manufacturing, with interest in applying data and digital technologies.
• Some experience of programming, data analysis or working with datasets.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside engineers to analyse manufacturing and process data, helping to identify trends, investigate problems and improve performance.
• Build your understanding of our manufacturing processes and the engineering behind the data, turning measurements into insights.
• Develop dashboards, reports and data visualisations to help teams understand their processes and make informed decisions.
• Support the digitalisation of manufacturing processes by helping to develop applications and automate tasks.
• Use data analysis and statistics to investigate engineering challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Gain exposure to AI, machine learning and predictive analytics and their manufacturing applications.
• Collaborate with different teams to understand challenges and develop practical, data-led solutions.
