Job summary

Marks Sattin is partnering with a well-known non-profit in London to recruit a Privacy Manager on a temporary basis. The role sits in the Legal Department and focuses on delivering practical privacy advice aligned with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act.

The successful candidate will provide guidance across the organisation, support the privacy governance programme, and engage with business stakeholders to embed a culture of privacy compliance.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent legal qualification (or significant equivalent experience in data protection/privacy law).
• Must have IAPP CIPP/E qualification.
• Experience advising on data protection and privacy matters within private practice, in-house legal, compliance function.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
• Interest in working within a values-led non-profit organisation.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on a range of data protection and privacy matters across the organisation.

• Review projects, initiatives and business activities from a data protection perspective.
• Assist with compliance monitoring, risk management, audits and incident response.
• Support the handling of data subject rights requests and other privacy-related enquiries.

• Work collaboratively with the Legal Department and stakeholders across the business to embed a culture of privacy compliance and best practice.
