Job summary

Solus is seeking a Data Protection Assistant to support the Data Protection Officer in safeguarding customer and colleague information. You will handle day-to-day DP activity, DSAR work, GDPR training, and cross-functional collaboration across a hybrid UK-based role.

The role requires strong organisation, curiosity about data privacy, and effective communication with stakeholders. A minimum weekly in-person presence in Milton Keynes/Dunstable area may apply as Solus expands nationally.

Qualifications

• Understanding GDPR and UK data protection legislation.
• Strong communication, organisation, prioritisation and written skills.
• Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across teams.
• Interest in data privacy, compliance, or governance.
• Flexibility to travel and occasionally work outside core hours.

Responsibilities

• Support the Data Protection Officer with day-to-day activity and ad-hoc DP projects.
• Help manage and respond to DSARs.
• Assist in designing and delivering GDPR training for operational teams and leaders.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Governance and Aviva data protection teams.
• Keep up to date with GDPR and related data protection obligations.
• Attend ICO events and relevant learning to maintain knowledge.
• Support communication with leaders and stakeholders on data protection expectations.
• Contribute to Consumer Duty and customer-centric risk reduction initiatives.
