Job summary

Home Group is seeking a Data Protection Advisor to implement best practice across the organisation. You’ll work with the Data Protection Manager to advise colleagues on lawful and responsible use of personal data, handling data breaches, subject access requests and information rights with care.

In this hands-on role you’ll shape governance records, complete DPIAs, support new systems and identify practical improvements. You’ll travel occasionally and enjoy hybrid working with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK data protection law.
• Experience handling data subject rights, data breaches, and Data Protection Impact Assessments.
• Excellent ability to explain complex issues in plain language to all levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, practical data protection advice across services and projects.
• Lead on managing data breaches and supporting proportionate risk decisions.
• Manage governance records and management reporting, including Records of Processing Activities.
• Complete complex Information Rights Requests, handling sensitive records with care.
• Complete and review Data Protection Impact Assessments with confidence.
• Support teams designing new systems and processes involving personal data.
• Spot compliance gaps and turn them into practical improvements.
