Job summary

Elevate is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer for a 6 month contract to provide comprehensive privacy and data protection guidance across UK and EU matters. The role supports AI-driven product development in a fast-paced tech environment, partnering with commercial, product and engineering teams.

The successful candidate will advise on GDPR, DPIAs, international data transfers, and privacy documentation, while monitoring regulatory developments relevant to AI and data governance.

Qualifications

• UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent qualification.
• Strong experience in data protection and privacy law.
• Knowledge of UK GDPR and EU data protection principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters.
• Advise on GDPR compliance, DPIAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements.
• Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation.
• Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements.

Our customer, an AI technology company is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer for a 6 month contract role to provide legal advice across a broad range of privacy and data protection matters. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced technology environment and support the business as it develops and scales AI-driven products and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters.
• Advise on GDPR compliance, DPIAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements.
• Support privacy considerations relating to AI products, technologies and data use.
• Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation.
• Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, processes and governance frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments relating to AI, data protection and emerging technology.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers as required.

Requirements

• UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent legal qualification.
• Strong experience in data protection and privacy law, ideally gained in-house or within a leading technology-focused law firm.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and wider EU data protection principles.
• Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses.
• Exposure to AI-related privacy, regulatory or data governance matters would be highly desirable.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
