Job summary

Elevate is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer for a 6-month contract to provide practical guidance on UK and EU data protection matters. You will support DPIAs, international data transfers, and privacy documentation while advising cross-functional teams in a fast-paced AI-enabled tech environment.

The role requires UK-qualified solicitor status with strong data protection experience, ideally in-house or at a technology-focused firm.

Qualifications

• UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent
• Strong data protection and privacy law experience, ideally in-house or within a tech-focused firm
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and EU data protection principles
• Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses
• Exposure to AI-related privacy or data governance matters desirable
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work independently and engage with senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters
• Advise on GDPR compliance, DPIAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements
• Support privacy considerations relating to AI products and data use
• Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation
• Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements
• Support development and implementation of privacy policies, processes and governance frameworks
• Monitor regulatory developments relating to AI, data protection and emerging technology
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisers as needed
