Job summary

Tesco IMS is building a new Data & AI capability in the UK. The Data Engineering Manager (Principal Engineer) will lead the team creating trusted data foundations for reporting, analytics and AI at scale.

You will shape Fabric estate, establish engineering standards and DataOps practices, and influence how data is delivered across the business. If you love building high-performing teams and modern data platforms, this is your chance to make an impact.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing Data Engineering teams.
• Strong expertise in designing, building and operating Microsoft Fabric solutions.
• Deep understanding of DataOps, platform governance, security and best practices.
• Ability to engage and influence business and technology stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver trusted, scalable, secure data platforms for reporting, analytics, AI and decision-making.
• Embed DataOps practices to improve quality, reliability and operational readiness of data products.
• Lead a high-performing Data Engineering capability and foster engineering excellence.
• Define reusable patterns, standards and governance for data integration, transformation and storage.
• Drive evolution of the enterprise data platform to support future analytics and AI needs.
• Partner with Product Managers, MI/BI & Analytics, AI & Data Science teams to translate needs into data solutions.
