Job summary

Our client is a specialist technical consultancy delivering data solutions for Central Government, Defence, National Security and Critical National Infrastructure. They seek an experienced Data Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines, ensuring data availability, quality and security across cloud platforms.

You will work with customers and internal stakeholders through the full project lifecycle, shaping data strategy and adopting emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Data Engineer in complex or regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of data management including modelling, integration, quality and governance.
• Proven ability with Snowflake and Databricks is essential.
• Experience with modern data architectures, cloud-based and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; familiarity with Airflow and Spark.
• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms; knowledge of big data tech.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, validate, and analyse data requirements across complex environments.
• Profile and analyse large datasets to ensure data accuracy and quality.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation and cleansing.
• Develop scalable data pipelines to support analytics and decision-making.
• Implement data quality controls and prepare datasets for reporting and visualization.
• Design and maintain data models for analytical and operational needs.
• Manage cloud storage solutions (S3, Azure Blob, BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Contribute to data governance, standards, and best practices.
