Job summary

Places for People is seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and governance of our data platform as part of the Data and Platform Engineering team. You will define architecture, ensure interoperability, and embed a DaP mindset across development efforts.

The role collaborates with Principal engineers to shape the data roadmap, mentor analysts, and drive scalable, secure data products in a modern data mesh environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Data Solutions Architect or similar role.
• Good understanding of Google's BigQuery platform.
• Expertise in data platform architecture, configuration, and optimisation with a focus on MPP databases like Google BigQuery.
• Strong knowledge of data mesh principles, data warehousing concepts, and ETL/ELT processes.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

• Data Platform Architecture Design: Overseeing the comprehensive design of the data platform's architecture.
• Architectural Documentation: Producing clear architectural docs and diagrams.
