Job Description
A high-performing, multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund is looking to hire a newly created Data Analyst position within their rapidly growing centralised Data Management team.
Reporting to the Global Head of Data, this role offers high visibility within the team. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Product Control, Risk, Trading, and Research teams to ensure the smooth transmission of data. The role has a technical/engineering focus, involving the optimization of internal data pipelines from raw data onboarding to the delivery of data points to front office and investment teams. Technical skills in SQL, Python, VBA, Matlab will be used to conduct quality checks and identify anomalies through complex dataset analysis. The analyst will serve as the main interface between data sourcing and data engineering and will be the point of contact for Traders.
The role also involves working on ad hoc projects with front office and technology teams, such as testing new dataset onboarding platforms, setting data governance metrics, and developing a centralized data management platform.
Candidates should have 2–7 years of experience as a Data Operations Specialist, Data Solutions Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst at a hedge fund, asset manager, or major data vendor. A strong academic background and experience in advanced coding/programming for analyzing large datasets within a financial services data team are required.
The position offers a base salary of up to £125K plus a bonus that can be a significant percentage of the base salary for top performers. Initially, the role requires a 5-day office week, with the possibility of working from home 1-2 days per week once settled into the role.
