Job summary

EDF Energy Limited is seeking a Data Modeller to design and develop enterprise-level data models aligning with SZC standards. You will work with architecture and engineering teams to capture requirements and implement models across data warehouses and data lakes.

The role requires experience in all modelling layers (conceptual, logical, physical) and strong governance. Hybrid setup with office presence in London and a measurable 5% annual incentive bonus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Modeller or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in SQL and understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and platforms.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of data Lakehouse architectures and modern data stack tools.
• Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Strong knowledge of data modelling tools (ER/Studio, ERwin, PowerDesigner, SQL DBM).
• Certification in data modelling or data architecture is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure).
• Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support BI, analytics, and operations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse data requirements.
• Translate business requirements into scalable data structures.
• Enforce modelling standards, best practices, and governance.
• Work with data engineers to implement models in data warehouses and data lakes.
• Maintain and update data models as business needs evolve.
• Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency across systems.
• Document data models, metadata, and data dictionaries.
• Support data lineage and impact analysis efforts.
• Develop ERDs and mapping documents for ETL/ELT processes.
• Create and maintain naming conventions and governance documentation.
