Job summary

EXL is seeking a SAVP – Data Management Solution Lead in London. The role blends billable data architecture with pre-sales and proposition support, focusing on robust data platforms, governance, and AI-enabled data foundations to drive client value.

You will work with Banking & Capital Markets, Energy, Utilities and Travel sectors, guiding cross-functional teams and shaping high-impact data solutions for strategic accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related field, or 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• 7+ years designing and delivering enterprise data solutions: data warehouses, data platforms, data integration and data migration.
• 3+ years working with Banking & Capital Markets or Energy, Utilities and Travel sectors, in consulting or industry.
• Hands-on experience architecting solutions on cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Strong data modelling, metadata and governance design.
• Understanding AI and generative AI and data foundations for AI adoption.
• Experience supporting pre-sales activity: shaping, estimation, and proposals.
• Experience providing technical leadership to delivery teams.
• Nice to have: master data management and data governance tooling.
• Knowledge of financial services regulatory context and data lineage.
• Experience with large-scale platform migrations to cloud.
• Exposure to AI-native/lakehouse platforms from data architecture perspective.
• Cloud/data architecture certifications and Agile/Scrum knowledge.

Responsibilities

• 60% Billable Solution Architecture on client engagements.
• Lead solution design for new Data Management opportunities and proposals.
• Design end-to-end data management solutions: architectures, lakehouse designs, pipelines and data models.
• Define data quality, metadata, lineage and governance standards within engagements.
• Ensure AI-ready data foundations for generative AI adoption.
• Guide delivery teams with technical leadership across design, build, testing and deployment.
• 30% Solution Design & Pre-Sales: shaping approach, architecture, delivery model and estimates.
• Contribute to proposals, RFI/RFP responses, proofs of concept and technical accelerators.
• 5% Practice & Capability Contribution: create reference architectures and accelerators.
