Job summary

NPT Pass is seeking a Data Insight Officer to join the Innovation and Continuous Improvement team. This hybrid role in Port Talbot involves turning data into actionable intelligence to support strategic decisions and service improvements across the Council.

You will work with senior leaders to deliver analyses, dashboards, and evidence-based recommendations, guiding prioritisation and investment decisions. A degree or substantial experience with continuing professional development is expected.

Qualifications

• Significant experience analysing complex data to support strategic decisions.
• Proven track record leading analytical projects and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Experience leading analytical projects from concept to recommendations.
• Strong forecasting, scenario modelling, evaluation and performance analysis skills.
• Excellent ICT and digital skills, including Microsoft 365 and reporting systems.
• Understanding of data governance and information management.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex corporate analytical projects from scoping to recommendations and evaluation.
• Analyse large, diverse datasets to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Develop forecasts and models to support strategic planning and financial sustainability.
• Design dashboards and reporting tools to present complex information clearly.
• Provide expert advice to senior managers and elected members.
• Establish corporate analytical standards and QA arrangements.
• Support transformation projects through evidence-based analysis and evaluation.
• Line manage and develop the Data Insight Assistant.
