Job summary

Joseph Rowntree Foundation is seeking a Data Governance Lead on a 18-month fixed term contract, based in York with hybrid working. You will lead the implementation of a new data governance framework to improve data quality, accessibility and regulatory compliance across the organisation.

You will work with data owners and data stewards, deliver training and develop governance tools while championing a culture that values high-quality data.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing data governance frameworks or policies.
• Strong understanding of data lifecycle management and data quality.
• Confident communicator with ability to explain complex information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the implementation and embedding of JRHT’s Data Governance Framework.
• Working with data owners and stewards to document data assets, identify issues and drive data quality improvements.
• Delivering training and facilitating workshops to build understanding and capability across the organisation.
• Developing governance standards, templates, tools and training materials.
• Establishing data quality measures and supporting the development of monitoring processes.
• Providing expert advice and guidance on data governance matters.
• Supporting governance activities within change programmes and system implementations.
• Ensuring compliance with data protection legislation, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
