Job summary

Lonza is seeking a Senior Data Governance Specialist in Manchester to define, implement, and oversee governance for transactional data across the organisation. You will work with Global Process Owners, business stakeholders, and technical teams to validate lifecycle rules and enable governance reporting through Power BI dashboards.

The role focuses on data integrity, lifecycle management, and operational accountability, with a hybrid work pattern (2 days in office, 3 days WFH).

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of data governance principles for transactional data.
• Experience defining business rules for data quality and lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of SAP transactional data concepts and reporting implications.
• Experience creating dashboards and governance views using Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Define, document, and govern business rules for transactional data across processes and SAP objects.
• Develop and maintain governance frameworks, lifecycle rules, ownership models, and control points.
• Collaborate with Global Process Owners, stakeholders, and technical teams to validate rules and governance needs.
• Propose and implement data lifecycle management rules aligned with governance and compliance.
• Translate business rules into data models, reporting logic, and data quality monitoring outputs.
• Monitor data quality trends and identify governance gaps for resolution.
• Support complete lifecycle management of transactional data across open, active, inactive, closed, retained records.
