Job summary

LGC Ltd is a global life science tools company seeking a Data Governance and Cyber Security Manager to craft and maintain governance, security, and compliance architecture across the Grant Management Group, with BI Hub as the priority delivery vehicle.

You will collaborate with the DDaT team, Information Governance, and technical specialists to maintain UK GDPR and DHSC standards while balancing innovative analytics and AI governance across GMG.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive understanding of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, data and information governance frameworks, and security controls.
• Experience implementing governance capabilities within large-scale data, analytics or digital transformation programmes.
• Experience establishing data ownership, stewardship, quality, and metadata management frameworks.
• Understanding of risk management, audit, compliance, and assurance procedures.
• Ability to translate complex governance and security requirements into practical business solutions.
• Excellent written, presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and implement the Data Governance Framework across GMG and associated contracts, with the BI Hub as the priority delivery vehicle, including policies, standards, processes and controls.
• Set up governance frameworks, forums, and decision-making systems to promote data ownership, stewardship, and accountability.
• Manage and refine the Data Management Operating Model for GMG and its contracts. Align it to the organisational strategy and DHSC contractual rules, focusing on the BI Hub.
• Define and monitor governance benchmarks, maturity measures, and compliance reporting.
• Serve as the BI Hub authority on Data Governance, Information Security and Compliance.
• Guide the application of security-by-design principles across BI Hub platforms and services.
