Job summary

Halfords Group PLC is recruiting a Data Engineer within the Data & Analytics team at our Redditch hub. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integrations powering reporting and decision-making across Halfords.

You will work with cloud-based technologies, transforming manual processes into automated data solutions and supporting data modelling and data quality improvements. The role offers hybrid working with 3 days onsite at Redditch and potential career growth

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and maintaining data pipelines and data products.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, Python and Spark.
• Experience with ETL development, performance, reliability and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations that connect operational systems to analytics and reporting platforms
• Develop, test, and optimise ETL processes using modern cloud-based technologies and engineering best practices
• Transform manual and time-consuming reporting processes into scalable, automated data solutions
• Produce and maintain clear documentation, including source-to-target mappings, data lineage, and technical specifications
• Support the development of reusable datasets and BI-ready data products that enable trusted and consistent reporting
• Investigate data issues, performance bottlenecks, and data quality concerns, implementing improvements and preventative measures
• Work collaboratively with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet both technical and business requirements
