Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking a dynamic Research Project Manager for Data Connect to coordinate a multi-disciplinary team and deliver a portfolio of health data projects.

You will liaise with academic researchers and NHS partners, drive agile delivery, manage risks, and ensure governance and data access across over 50 active projects. Strong communication and data governance experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing and delivering projects of varying size and complexity, including work scheduling and resource planning.
• Familiar with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and collaboration tools (Jira, GitHub).
• Experience with sensitive data handling, UK GDPR, and data governance in research/health contexts.
• Excellent communication skills with diverse stakeholders, including senior researchers and NHS partners.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary initial point of contact for researchers approaching Data Connect.
• Define project workflows, scope, and timelines with Principal Investigators and teams.
• Coordinate a multi-disciplinary team to break down projects into tasks and sprint plans.
• Maintain and optimise Jira board workflows and project tracking.
• Manage capacity and resource allocation across a portfolio of over 50 active projects.
• Collaborate with data governance teams to support governance and data access.
