Job summary

Velocity Recruitment client in London seeks a DC Shift Operations Supervisor to lead data centre building operations on a key 24/7 site. You will supervise M&E systems, HV work, and safety compliance while coordinating with contractors and the client.

Ideal candidates bring data centre experience, high voltage knowledge, and strong leadership. This role requires robust safety governance and hands-on incident reporting within a critical facility.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualifications from a recognised institution.
• Understanding of Health and Safety requirements and ability to supervise on day-to-day safety.
• Experience in a critical environment (data centre preferred).
• Experience with high voltage (AP15) and 18th edition wiring regulations.
• Teamwork and customer-facing communication; good computer literacy.
• Experience managing sub-contractors and permit-to-work systems.
• Good commercial knowledge and data centre familiarity.
• IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate and supervise M&E systems within a Data Centre, including HV isolations.
• Supervise CBRE liaison with Engineering/Technical Managers and report concisely.
• Oversee shift operations from Building Control Room and handle alerts.
• Ensure subcontractor works follow SOPs/MOP/PTW and client change requests.
• Prepare reports on completed work, critical spares, and incidents for management.
• Act as first escalation point to the client and manage handover details.
• Promote QHSE compliance and conduct toolbox talks; drive safe systems of work.
