Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technical Director for our Data Centres sector in the UK. You will lead a team of engineers, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure efficient, scalable data centre operations while expanding client relationships across the UK and EMEA.

You will oversee budgets, forecast workloads, and collaborate with senior leaders to shape the future of mission-critical facilities. Hybrid working and global knowledge sharing are core to the role.

Qualifications

• Chartered status or working towards chartership
• Deep knowledge of mechanical systems incl. HVAC and energy management
• Leadership experience managing engineers and technicians
• Strong project management skills and budget awareness
• Strategic vision for data centres and mission-critical facilities
• Excellent communication with stakeholders across levels

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management and develop team culture
• Grow client relationships and expand brand in UK/EMEA
• Meet budgets and support MEP financial planning
• Drive strategic initiatives with senior leadership
• Share knowledge across WSP globally
• Forecast workload and ensure profitable delivery
• Oversee team performance and client engagement
• Be the primary client contact and develop new business opportunities
• Collaborate with developers, contractors and architects
