Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking a M&E Shift Engineer for a permanent role in the UK. The position focuses on maintaining and repairing data centre mechanical and electrical systems, with routine testing, record keeping, and coordination of subcontractors to ensure uptime and safety.

The role requires City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent, strong knowledge of BMS/HVAC controls, and the ability to work within SLA-driven environments. A competitive salary with pension and holiday entitlements is offered.

Qualifications

• Relevant electrical qualifications and experience in a similar role carrying out building services maintenance in a critical environment.
• City and Guilds, NVQ or equivalent is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical & electrical systems in data centres.
• Perform routine tests, checks and record keeping for building systems.
• Maintain water systems and records in compliance with L8 legislation.
• Conduct daily walk rounds of client areas and plant rooms to identify defects and keep spaces clean and safe.
• Coordinate and manage sub-contractors, including cleaning services.
• Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, space) to meet requirements.
• Adjust and optimize building management systems (BMS) for HVAC efficiency.
• Respond promptly to helpdesk calls and defects.
• Suggest innovations to improve energy efficiency of plant and systems.
• Track defects through Help Desk and close out within SLA timelines.
• Keep Shift Manager and Operations Manager informed on progress.
